About Justine

In May 1996, Justine O. Sherman graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology from James Madison University in Virginia. Upon receiving a full scholarship and Teaching Assistantship, she attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology in May 1998.

While in graduate school, Justine taught several sections of an undergraduate Voice and Diction course at the University as well as an Accent Reduction class at a local adult school.

Following graduation, Justine moved to California where she worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public school system from June 1998 through June 2004. She served as the Special Education Liason on several committees, representing the needs of special education students in the district. Justine also served on Individualized Education Plan teams with psychologists, educators, and administrators. These teams provided diagnostic and consultative services for student placement and Individual Education Plans.

In September 2004, Justine left the school district and was named Associate Director of a private clinic specializing in speech-language pathology and orofacial myology.

In January 2007, Justine opened JUSTINE SHERMAN & ASSOCIATES, INC., her own practice in Sierra Madre, California. Her clinic employs eight licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, five Orofacial Myologists, and one Educational Specialist who conduct diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults with oral motor, tongue thrust, articulation, language, childhood apraxia of speech, voice, fluency, auditory processing, craniofacial, learning, and autism spectrum disorders.

Justine and her staff have been trained in Stanley Greenspan's Floortime approach and frequently attend continuing education courses covering various topics. Justine is licensed through the California State Board of Medical Quality Assurance and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Justine is also a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology and is in the process of becoming a Certified Orofacial Myologist.

JUSTINE SHERMAN & ASSOCIATES, INC., a Nonpublic Agency, currently holds contracts with private clients, three local Regional Centers, multiple school districts and Facey Medical Foundation.
