About Justine

In May 1996, Justine O. Sherman graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology from James Madison University in Virginia.  Upon receiving a scholarship and Teaching Assistantship, she attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology in May 1998.

Following graduation, Justine moved to California where she worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public school system from June 1998 through June 2004. In September 2004, Justine left the school district and was named Associate Director of a private clinic specializing in speech-language pathology and orofacial myology. 

In January 2007, Justine opened Justine Sherman & Associates, Inc., a private practice in Sierra Madre, California. Her clinic has a team that consists of eight licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), two Clinical Fellows (CF), one Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), four Orofacial Myologists (OM), one Educational Specialist and an Infant-Toddler Development Specialist who conduct diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults with oral motor, tongue thrust, articulation, phonological, childhood apraxia of speech, craniofacial, voice, fluency, receptive-expressive language, auditory processing, learning, and autism spectrum disorders. Justine has been trained in Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime approach and Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking® and On Cloud Nine® programs.  She has also attended numerous continuing education classes targeting childhood apraxia of speech, autism and executive functioning skills.  Justine is a guest lecturer for NOVA Southeastern University’s Speech-Language Pathology program and presents on managing a private practice. She is also a member of the Pasadena City College Child Development Advisory Board.  Justine is licensed through the California State Board of Medical Quality Assurance and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

In addition to her role as a speech-language pathologist, Justine is also a Certified Orofacial Myologist and a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology.  She specializes in treating orofacial myofunctional disorders including tongue thrusting and TMJ difficulties.  

Justine Sherman & Associates, Inc., a Nonpublic Agency, currently holds contracts with private clients, three local Regional Centers, multiple school districts, Facey Medical Foundation and Clinician Home Health Services, Inc.
